EAST AFRICAN PETROLEUM CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION : Feb 2011

Unlocking Petroleum Potential in E.A.
Themed "Harnessing East Africa's Oil and Gas Potential and Utilizing the Resources to Create Lasting Value", the 5th East African Petroluem Conference and Exhibition (EAPCE'11) will be held from 2 - 4 February, 2011 at the Kampala Serena Hotel; Kampala, Uganda

EAPCE'11 Welcome Note
On behalf of the East African Community (EAC), I am pleased to invite you to the 5th East African Petroleum Conference & Exhibition 2011(EAPCE’11) which will take place from 2nd to 4th February 2011 at the Kampala Serena Hotel in Uganda.

This is the fifth biannual Conference and Exhibition hosted by the EAC to promote the region’s petroleum potential and investment opportunities. The last four Conferences have proved to be a unique forum where governments and oil companies from across the world meet and engage in active dialogue and exchange ideas on the upstream petroleum industry in East Africa. The East African Petroleum Conferences have provided increasing awareness of the potential for petroleum development in the region and other important developments in the petroleum sector including technological advancements in exploration, development and production. That is why, petroleum sector players from all over the world converge in East Africa every two years.

Our Conferences bring together participants from international oil companies, oil industry service companies, government institutions, academic institutions, international geoscientific journals, non-oil and gas institutions and the media. Delegates are assured high quality technical presentations, exhibitions from a wide spectrum of players from the petroleum sector and field excursions to the five EAC Partner States to witness first hand geological features of interest savoured with the rich touristic attractions that the Region is world famous for.

EAPCE’11 is taking place at an exciting time for the East African Community as we transit into a Common Market. Following the signing of the Common Market Protocol in November 2009 by the EAC Heads of State and subsequent ratification by Partner States, the EAC is now one market with free movement of goods, capital and services within the region. We expect this transition to provide great opportunities for business and investment in all sectors.

You can participate in EAPCE’11 in various ways: You can attend as a delegate to benefit from the rich discussions and exhibitions that the Conference offers. Your company can also book exhibition space where you will have opportunities to promote your products to a wide range of participants. We also invite you to consider becoming a sponsor which comes with attractive promotion opportunities for your company. Whichever way you choose to participate, I assure you that
EAPCE’11 will be worth your participation.
